About me
René Sloos was born in Alkmaar, the Netherlands. Coming from a background in electronics, the last employer in the Netherlands was a IT-products and Services company similar to Bulletproof InfoTech. Computers have always been one of his biggest passions. Another hobby was being a DJ. Together with his best friend they owned a Drive-in discotheque and spiced up many a party! He immigrated in September 1996, with his wife and then 1 year old son, and started his own IT-Services company Commix Consulting from the families’ basement. The company grew, the name changed into CompuConsult.com Inc. and moved to a location downtown.
René enjoys (disco) music, skiing, camping and has been a Scout leader for the past 8 years. For the Scouting groups, he developed an interactive computer program for the youth to earn their “computer badge”. He has been happily married for 17 years, has 3 wonderful sons and has the honor of working with his better half at Bulletproof InfoTech.
René’s job title at BIT is that of VP Solutions, a role he truly enjoys. Helping others has always been one of his strengths and passions. As a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer and Certified Trainer, he is a true believer of life-long learning. He has been teaching classes for the MCSE programs at Mount Royal College and CDI- learning for many years.
In 2007 René was nominated for the “Immigrant of Distinction Award” in the Business category by the Honorary Consul of the Netherlands in Calgary. He felt truly honoured to be recognized as a successful entrepreneur this way.
